In My Mailbox #8

Do you like my new logo? I kind of stole it off of Book Adoration *guilty*
In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren, where we spotlight the books that we have received for review, swapped, or purchased that week.

This week, I swapped Insurgent by Veronica Roth, for:

Beautiful Creatures
by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl
Series: Caster Chronicles #1
Release Date: December 1, 2009
by Little Brown Books for Young Readers
Pages: 592

Links: Goodreads
Lena Duchannes is unlike anyone the small Southern town of Gatlin has ever seen, and she's struggling to conceal her power, and a curse that has haunted her family for generations. But even within the overgrown gardens, murky swamps and crumbling graveyards of the forgotten South, a secret cannot stay hidden forever.
Ethan Wate, who has been counting the months until he can escape from Gatlin, is haunted by dreams of a beautiful girl he has never met. When Lena moves into the town's oldest and most infamous plantation, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her and determined to uncover the connection between them. In a town with no surprises, one secret could change everything.
I'm reading this book now, and so far it's pretty good! But boy, is it long. I hope I can finish it by the end of the weekend, but I'm not sure if that's possible seeing as I am barely 200 pages into it :) Off to go read!

What did you guys get this week?
Link me up!!! :)

  1. I actually saw the movie for this and I really wish I had read it before I saw the movie because I was a little confused for most of it. Hope you enjoy it!

  4. I was wondering where i saw that same logo...Haha, but it's a community so thievery is just sharing. XD

Anyways, I haven't read or seen Creatures just because the trailer for it kinda looks like Twilight even if I know it must be better. But, seriously, how they made the trailer was just terrible. Hope you can finish it up and watch the movie soon! Enjoy! ^^

    1. I was a little hesitant to read it because it has been compared to Twilight... but so far, I'm not seeing very many similarities. :p I'm liking it so far, but I have a few minor problems with it.

  7. Beautiful Creatures is interesting. It's not my favorite book ever. I definitely think it's too long, but I am glad I read it. I hope you like it.

    Happy reading :)
