Top Ten Tuesday #5

It's been much too long since I've done a Top Ten Tuesday, isn't it? I haven't had much time for memes lately, but when saw the topic of this week's TTT, I just had to do it!
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the BookishFor more information, click here

This Week's Topic: Top Ten Settings I'd Like To See More Of (Or At All)

1. Europe
Why: I love Europe ♥, and I think it's the most beautiful place in the entire world. Therefore, I'd like to see more books with a European setting, whether they are in England, France, Spain, Italy... you name it.

2. Castles
Why: I love stories about royal families, or princesses, or queens, and handsome princes looking for true love. Call me a hopeless romantic, but I just love that type of story. I'd definitely like to see more princess stories. Which are usually set in castles. So, castles. :P

3. The beach
Why: Who doesn't love the beach?

4. Autumn
Why: Autumn is my favorite season. The leaves are beautiful, the air is cool and fresh, it's my birthday season (!), and the excitement of a new year lies ahead. There are a lot of books in the summer, a lot of books in the winter, but there aren't nearly enough in the autumn.

5. England
Why: I know there are already tons of books set in England, but England is the best place ever, so why not write more? As a plus, there should be guys with British accents in the book *faints*

6. Delaware
Why: My home state. OK, yeah, there's really nothing interesting about Delaware. But it IS the state I come from, and live in, and even though it's the most boring place on earth, I have never read a book set in Delaware. To be honest, I would like to read one. Even if it were the most boring book on earth, it would be quite fitting, seeing as Delaware is the most boring place on earth. ;)

7. the Victorian era
Why: I have read a lot of books set in the Victorian era, but I would honestly just love to read more because every book I read featuring this era, I just LOVE! Gemma Doyle, The Friday Society, The Luxe ... Oh, they're all so good!

8. the Middle East
Why: I know that there is a lot of turmoil going on over there, but I can say that this place is not as gruesome as it as made out to be. Sure, there are a lot of awful things going on over there, but people assume that everyone Middle Eastern is bad, or that everything over in the Middle East is a wreck. I for one can tell you that this isn't true. I have been over there, and it is very soothing, the Muslim culture beautiful.  I would like to read more books about Middle Eastern culture, not just about war.

9. France
Why: I love France. I love French--it's beautiful sound coming off of peoples' tongues, its beauty, its stylishness.

10. the Eighteenth Century
Why: After studying this century closely in history class, I'm really interested in it and the making of our country. I'd like to read more books focused on this time period.

Send me links to your TTT, and I'll definitely comment on them!! :)

This Week's Topic: Top Ten Books I Resolve To Read in 2013

Clockwork Princess
by Cassandra Clare

This is no doubt my most anticipated 2013 release. What will happen to Will, Tessa, and Jem? I'm getting this the day it comes out-- March 19-- and there will be no stopping me when I'm reading this! I have a feeling that this book isn't going to end the way I want it to, and I know there will be tears shed. Nonetheless, this is one that cannot be overlooked. I'm so excited for it!!

The Elite
by Kiera Cass

Wow. I almost can't believe how excited I am for this book, despite some annoyances that came along with the first book. Every time I reread the Selection, it just gets better. So that's why this earns a spot at number 2. The cover is absolutely gorgeous (not that it matters... :p) and I just can't wait to see what happens in this book. AHHHhh! I'm so excited ♥. Even though I'm not America's biggest fan, I am so looking forward to finding out her fate. :) I have a feeling I'll like this book, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Maxon's sake.

Scarlet
by Marissa Meyer

I fell in love with the first book in this series. With Cinder, with Kai, with everything in it. So that's why I cannot wait for the second installment to this lovely series.  I hear that Cinder isn't going to be in this book, which is a disappointment, but I expect nothing but the best from Marissa since she showed me her amazingness by writing the first book. (Don't know if amazingness is a word, but...whatev.)

Throne of Glass
by Sarah J. Maas

This book's already been released, but nonetheless I resolve to read it in 2013, because it looks fantastic, although I have heard mixed reviews on it.  I hear there's a kick-ass heroine which is exactly what I like in a book. So I'll definitely be buying this one very soon! Expect a review from me shortly. :)

Such A Rush
by Jennifer Echols

Let's face it, why do I want to read this book? Because of the cover. Also I won't lie- The synopsis does sound pretty interesting. I will be looking for this one the next time I am at a bookstore and will most likely be coming home with it. :)

Going Too Far
by Jennifer Echols

Haha, I actually just noticed that this book's by the same author as Such A Rush, which I didn't realize till now. Funny. Anyway, I've heard amazing things about this book and yeah, let's face it, it has a gorgy cover. :p

Everneath
by Brodi Ashton

This book's cover is just...breathtaking (that's the only word that's coming to mind here). But no, no! That's NOT why I want to read it! It seems so interesting and fascinating and from reading the synopsis, a great love triangle even though I am not the biggest fan of love triangles. Anyway, that's why I want to read it and will definitely be looking for this the next time I'm at the bookstore!!

Pushing the Limits
by Katie McGarry

Alright I'll be honest. I don't like this cover. In fact, I would never have considered putting this on my top 10 list were it not for amazing reviews. So let's just say I'm not all about the covers here.

Untitled (Divergent #3)
by Veronica Roth

Calm down. Calm down. This cover is just a joke. This isn't going to be the name or cover of the third Divergent book. Haha. :)

Anyway this would have made the top 3, but Insurgent really, really disappointed me. I will definitely be reading this book, but I didn't like Insurgent as much as I thought I would, so that's why this one's #9, not #2.

Just One Day
by Gayle Forman

After falling head over heels in love with her If I Stay series, I am so looking forward to Just One Day because I have heard amazing things about it even though it's not out (yet). I have read some ARC reviews and let me tell you, they are all raving and amazing. So I will definitely be getting this book!

That's all for today! ♥ See you soon!

♥This Week's Topic: Top Ten Favorite New-to-Me Authors I Read in 2012♥

1. Sarah Dessen (Lock and Key, Just Listen...) ♥
Sarah Dessen is amazing. Just Listen is one of the most profound things I've ever read, despite being extremely chic-lit.  I love Sarah because...where do I start? She's incredibly honest with her readers.  The dialogue is realistic and the characters are relatable.  She's one of my favorite authors now.  To see my review for Just Listen, click HERE.

2. Jodi Lynn Anderson (Tiger Lily) ♥
Tiger Lily was, I think, maybe the best book I read in 2012. I am envious of the way Jodi Lynn Anderson writes--It's like creamy chocolate icing and terribly romantic.  I loved the story of Peter Pan when I was little, but Tiger Lily's story is absolutely amazing. I love this book, and Jodi is now one of my writing role models. To see my review for Tiger Lily, click HERE

3. Cassandra Clare (Clockwork Angel, City of Bones...) ♥
Wow. Cassandra Clare is amazing. The way she is able to pull her readers into the story is an amazing ability she has.  She has hundreds of fans all over the world craving Clockwork Princess (including me!). I don't know how she's able to write up such fantastic stuff, but all I know is that she's one talented lady and has lots of fans on her side. Two thumbs up to Cassi. Cassi, you're amaaazing!

4. Becca Fitzpatrick (Hush Hush, Crescendo...) ♥
When you read Becca's writing, you know how much she empathizes with her readers. She can tell when they might be bored and speeds the story up.  She can tell when they're scared and makes everything scarier just to thrill her readers.  I've never felt so many different emotions when reading a book--terrified, petrified, happy, in love... All of these different emotions that Becca made me experience. She's awesome! To read my review on Hush, Hush, click HERE. To read my review on Crescendo, click HERE.

5. Kiera Cass (The Selection) ♥
Reading Kiera's gorgeous writing is like sitting in a hot bubble bath with the smell of lavender swirling around you.  It's luxurious and relaxing, even though it's not challenging and it doesn't make the wheels in your mind turn.  I think it's good to have an author like that every once in a while, an author that you read when you're propped up against fluffy pillows and just inhaling her beautiful writing.  I have 2 reviews of The Selection, but I'll give you the most recent review. To view it, click HERE.

6. John Green (The Fault in Our Stars, Looking For Alaska) ♥
John Green has blown me away with his ability to hit his readers so hard.  Each time I read a book of his, he has made me think about life in a different way. I've never experienced that before from reading a book, and it was amazing, let me tell you.  Each time I reread a book of his, I'm filled with yet another new possibility of life.  He writes about death, but he makes his readers think about life.  It's the most amazing ability I've seen in a writer.  To view my review for The Fault in Our Stars, click HERE. To see my review on Looking For Alaska, click HERE.

7. Gayle Forman (If I Stay, Where She Went) ♥
Gayle Forman manages to do the same thing as John Green only a little different. She writes about death in her If I Stay series, but she makes her reader think purely about LIFE. And her ability to write about true love without making it seem cheesy or fake is also amazing. You can tell from her books that she's not making up the idea of true love, it's actually there. To read my review on If I Stay, click HERE. To read my review on Where She Went, click HERE.

8. Marissa Meyer (Cinder) ♥
Even though Cinder was Marissa's debut novel, she wrote with such confidence which was what made her writing style so appealing to many readers. The way she told the story was fearless and though it had a few blemishes, she managed to cover them up with her marvellous storytelling gift. I loved the way that she could pull the reader in from the first page. Even though the first couple of pages bewildered me, I wanted to read more. To read my review on Cinder, click HERE.

9. Veronica Roth (Divergent, Insurgent) ♥
This series was one of my favorite series of 2012! What positively amazes me about Veronica is the fact that she started writing this book in college! She's able to connect her book with the things that teenagers like in books while being totally unique at the same time.  Since Divergent was published, the whole fighting and violence thing has become a sort of trend, but in my opinion, none of them measure up to Divergent. It was amazing, and all I could say after reading it was "Wow", so unfortunatelly I don't have a review for this one. :)

10. Lauren Oliver (Delirium, Before I Fall, Pandemonium) ♥
Lauren writes with such ease and the way she writes is smooth and easy to follow.  I never felt myself getting confused or lost when I was reading her books. I think Before I Fall is my favorite of hers (actually, I don't think, I KNOW), because it's a fluffy kind of writing style but at the same time manages to teach you a sort of life lesson, which was what I really liked about it. Lauren is amazing, and I hope you all will read a book by her!

Well, that was pretty easy! I could have added 20 more authors to that list, but it's Top Ten Tuesday so I'm only posting ten :p

*Take note that my Top Ten Tuesday posts are not in any particular order. Also note that I might do most of my TTT posts on Monday nights. :)

Have a nice week sweeties! :) ♥♥
